Yesterday, I posted about contractors and businessmen being welcome at Newpoint Hotel bed and breakfast guest house (B & B) and about how I am able to offer them special prices because they often book for multiple visits, either in one week or over a period of time.

Today, I thought it would be nice to highlight that other group of regular visitors to Bournemouth, the students on flight training courses who attend various centres around Bournemouth’s airports such as Bournemouth Commercial Flight Training, Bournemouth Flying Club, Bournemouth Helicopters or Flight Examiner Training (Bournemeouth).

(It also gives me a chance to use a photo I snapped whilst on holiday of an old flying helmet. Cool eh?)

Hang gliding and parasailing close to Newpoint Hotel bed and breakfast (B & B) at Southbourne Overcliff, Bournemouth

Every time I see the hang gliders and parasailing pilots above Southbourne Overcliff, my heart skips a beat. Half of me says how scary it would be and the other half thinks how wonderful to soar like a bird above the beach and the sea.

In any case, it is not likely that I will be offered a quick flight because the Southbourne Overcliff flight point is for members of Wessex Hang Gliding and Parasailing Club only and membership seems to depend on, among other things, completing the appropriate training course at a proper flying school.

However, if you are thinking about taking to the clouds above Southbourne, the Wessex Hang Gliding and Parasailing Club web site will tell you all you need to know.

Why am I mentioning all this about hang gliding and parasailing? Well, Southbourne’s Wessex Hang Gliding and Parasailing Club point is but a short gust away from the Newpoint Hotel bed and breakfast and, if you are a visiting pilot, I would be pleased to provide you with a comfortable bed and hearty breakfast before you take to the skies!
