Personally, I love Leonard Cohen. His songs are, to me, like poetry with a tune added – some would say not much of a tune but, hey, keeping it simple works for me.

So I was pretty pleased to see that Leonard Cohen is appearing at the Bournemouth International Centre (BIC) in November 2008.

How I would love to go and see him. However, Newpoint Hotel bed and breakfast continues to be busy down here in Southbourne, thank goodness, however hard the ‘credit crunch’ tries to knock us hoteliers off course so it might be difficult to get the night off.

However, being busy means I don’t have too much time to get my old guitar out (see picture) and serenade my husband – to his eternal relief!

Who knows. Perhaps there will be some guests staying and visiting Bournemouth or Southbourne who will tell me all about it

Single rooms are available with or without ensuite, doubles are with ensuite and so are family rooms. Twin beds accommodation is available too. All accommodation has coffee and tea-making facilities and television. Breakfast is full English, vegetarian or vegan as you wish.

My daughter has just finished her Art qualification so I understand how important it is to get your choice of academic institution right and the town and area in which you will be studying is also very important. Taking a couple of days to have a really good look around really makes a difference.

So, if you are staying in Bournemouth while you attend an Open Day at the Bournemouth Arts Institute (or even an interview for a job), you will be welcome to stay at Newpoint Hotel B&B.
