I was just admiring the events listed at the Bournemouth Literary Festival 2008 when I noticed that they have given top billing to Theo Paphitis of Dragons’ Den fame who will be appearing at The Opera House in Bournemouth to read from his autobiography ‘Enter the Dragon’, followed by a book signing and business networking session.
Clicking through to the Opera House site, I noticed that the subtitle of Theo Paphitis’s book is ‘How I transformed my life and how you can too’.
Phew, that would be nice. I’m sure we could all do with a bit of transformation in our lives! Perhaps I ought to read the book and discover how I can get all my cleaning done quicker (to my exacting standards) or even cook yet more scrumptious breakfasts. Or perhaps he could stimulate my thinking about bed making and telephone answering all hours.
Problem is, I’m not sure when I would have time to read his book – what with all the aforementioned, cooking, cleaning and washing. Hey-ho, never mind!
Of course, there is one further duty that is high on my list of priorities and that is meeting and welcoming my guests – my favourite activity, which is always done with a smile.
Perhaps, at the end of the day, I don’t really need my life transforming because I quite like it the way it is. Being a hotelier is hard work but lots of fun and there are always new and interesting people to meet.
During the Bournemouth Literary Festival 2008, perhaps the visitors to Newpoint Hotel will take a distinctly literary flavour. Imagine Newpoint Hotel populated for the week with romantic novelists, short story collection writers, horror novellas scribes, adventure and travel authors and discerning biographers – not to mention their fascinating readers!
Of course, whether, you are an author or a reader, you will always be welcome at Newpoint Hotel B & B!
We have single bedrooms with or without ensuite, double bedrooms with ensuite, twin bedrooms with ensuite and family bedrooms with ensuite. Tea and coffee is available in all bedrooms and also televisions. Breakfast, which is optional, is either full English or vegetarian for those on special diets for religious, health, or preference reasons.
The motto on the Bournemouth Literary Festival is ‘a world of words, a sea of knowledge’. Perhaps, after enjoying the delights of your literary entertainment you will enjoy a pleasant walk along Southbourne Overcliff, Undercliff, Hengistbury Head or the beautiful beaches that are at the end of our road.
