Hengistbury Head looking over to the Isle of Wight

Bird watching is a great holiday activity on Hengistbury Head, Bournemouth for visitors to Newpoint Hotel bed and breakfast guest house and only the other day I spotted a whitethroat.

The whitethroat is a small bird, about the size of a great tit, and a member of the warbler family. Its tail which it likes to flick and cock as it darts in and out of cover is quite long.

Unfortunately, the whitethroat I saw on Hengistbury head was too quick for me to get a photo. Perhaps next time I will be successful which will be nice because it is a pretty, dainty bird

If you are an ornithologist, birdwatcher, birder or a twitcher and are visiting Bournemouth, Hengistbury Head, which is a Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI) and a Local Nature Reserve, would be a great place to visit and you will, of course be welcome to stay at Newpoint Hotel bed and breakfast guest house (B and B) for a comfortable bed and a hearty breakfast to give you maximum energy for your Hengistbury Head bird watching explorations!
